"I can't, I have lab."
As a biology major, almost all of your classes are accompanied by a lab, be it chemistry, biology, physics, anatomy, etc. In addition, the labs typically fall at awkward times of the day, keep you from being able to do things when your friends want to,
and last FOREVER.
It's 80 degrees outside with 100% humidity, and you have to wear long pants and close-toed shoes.
The struggle is real in the early fall and spring seasons. It's either extremely hot and humid and you practically suffocate, or it's merely beautiful weather that you have experienced after the long winter and you want to wear capris, shorts, or a skirt.
There is no such thing as a schedule with "No Monday, No Friday" classes.
Only in your wildest dreams could you
ever obtain a schedule that doesn't have at least one lecture or lab on a Monday or Friday. Some other majors may have the luxury of a four day weekend, but not biology majors.
Your minor(s) or second major more than likely has no real connection to science or math.
This is your happy place. It is a part of your education/degree where you can escape from the sciences. It is how you can momentarily escape the difficult and GPA squashing science-based courses.
Your planner/to-do list is completely consumed with stuff associated with your major.
Chemistry test, case study, bio lab quiz, calculus exam, study session, etc. It's almost as if your major has taken over your life and all you have time for.
There are dozens of different ways you can use your degree, and you may or may not yet know what you want to do with it.
What do you want to do with your life? A biology degree opens so many doors that it often seems scary--do you want to go to medical school, do you want to be a vet, do you want to study animals, plants??? And with so many options it makes making a decision even more difficult.
